I never really liked the Dark Angel chapter until I saw a really cool paint scheme in an old issue of White Dwarf where they had this fiery orange trim. I was immediately converted X3
About halfway through drawing I realised that it would be cool to do something involving Deathwing/Ravenwing, so I'll have to keep that in mind.
I tried to incorporate the model paintery style of highlighting along the edges of plates and suchlike on this. Not sure it makes a huge amount of sense with the strong cel-shading, but I still think it looks neat. Maybe. :3
Oh yeah, it's Aryn. I drew her as a Space Marine once before. She amuses me.
Oooooh ze armor ish shooooooo shiny *stares in awe*

If I remember my space marine stuff right, most chapters can have the orange trim, it depends on what force they are. Each chapter of 1000 marines is split into 10 companies of 100 (which are broken into 10 squads of 10 marines).
I was never the kind to get hung up on the fluff, I was just struck by how cool it looked at the time. I never really liked Dark Angels in their plain old green... especially in the Dawn of War games where they seem to have picked a really disgusting (and not very dark) shade of green X3
I don't play anymore - I gave it up about 10 years ago because it got kinda expensive, and I realised I'd rather spend my time drawing instead of painting X3
But yeah, I used to play a mishmash marine army because I was poor and the boxset came with quite a few of the little chaps to start with

This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
